Scheper & Associates follows a well-honed 10-step process to achieve the end product the homeowner wishes and the best construction experience possible.
Step 1. Client meets with Rick Scheper and the Scheper in-house Design/Build Department. Discussed at this meeting are house plans, general specifications, the residential community’s restrictive covenants, if any, compliance with state and local building codes, and construction budgets.
Step 2. The design/build plans are begun, guided by the homeowner and by Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Because this software offers flexibility, changes to the plans can easily be made so that a homeowner’s wishes are always accommodated. Sometimes, homeowners ask that Scheper purchase “outside” plans and then revise them according to the homeowner’s wishes. Either way, Plans are completed to the permitting stage.
Step 3. Client visits various vendors to make selections of plumbing fixtures, appliances, cabinetry, windows and doors, bathroom hardware, etc.
Step 4. Rick Scheper works with the client to position the house for the plot plan survey.
Step 5. Rick meets with various suppliers and gathers quotes to arrive at the total cost of construction.
Step 6. Rick presents construction costs to client and after discussion and agreement, contracts are signed to begin the building process.
Step 7. Rick and client walk the property to mark where the house will be sited.
Step 8. Scheper and Associates, Inc. applies for the building permit.
Step 9. Construction begins.
Step 10. After the home is completed, Rick and client take a final walk-through to discuss the finished home and to solve any problems, should there be any.
Throughout the construction process itself, there is always an open line of communication between Rick, Scheper office personnel, and the homeowner. The homeowner is always kept abreast of the activities of each phase of the construction so that he or she may make changes as necessary. With these safeguards in place, each homeowner can enjoy the peace of mind and the confidence that the finished home will be everything he or she wanted it to be.
